Lagos Beaches and City

Lagos is a city in the Algarve region in the South of Portugal. Lagos' beaches are excellent and well known. The Lagos Marina is a luxurious complex located 5 minutes from the city centre. The beaches in Lagos are mostly sandy and situated between large rocks. There is also a plain sandy beach which is more popular with tourists. If you are looking for privacy, venture between the rocks and find your favourite Lagos beach. You can also take a boat trip to the grottos in Lagos for a mere 10 € per person. Lagos' restaurants are relatively cheap and they range from the more expensive fish restaurants to the cheap snack bars which offer great value for money. Lagos' bars and clubs are abundant and mostly are located around the centre. Accommodation in Lagos is available in hotels but also in decent, privately-owned apartments, which are an excellent way to save money. Cheap accommodation in Lagos is not difficult to arrange if you search in advance and find the most affordable apartments.

Parque das Nações / Expo Lisbon

Parque das Nações is a modern centre of Lisbon that, believe it or not, used to be a waste dump. It was built to host Expo '98 (1998 Lisbon World Exposition). Today, Parque das Nações is a business, commercial and tourist centre.


Parque das Nações boasts the famous Lisbon aquarium, Casino Lisboa, Lisbon Tower, and the Vasco da Gama shopping centre.


There is a system of cable cars taking visitors on a tour of Parque das Nações / Expo.

Largo do Camões, Lisbon

Largo do Camões is a square in central Lisbon with a monument dedicated to the Portguese poet Luís Vaz de Camões. Due to its proximity to the hip Bairro Alto, it serves as a gathering place for young people at night.
